Overnight to Chebeague Island, June 14
Distance Travelled: 4.4 nm | PYC to Chebeague (Chebeague Island Inn, West Side)
Up at about 0645 after a generally peaceful night. H made coffee and we enjoyed breakfast and coffee in the cockpit while watching a seal fish for his own breakfast. After a bit we decided to take advantage of the light easterly to try to sail back on a fair breeze. ¶ While H put the boat away, I prepared for departure, and we dropped the mooring at about 0910 in a slowly diminshing easterly. Sailed off the mooring and reached to nun off Little John at about 3.5 knots. Turned down and had a long slow, but enjoyable run to Falmouth, mostly wing and wing at between 0.9 and 2.5 knots. Back in Falmouth, we spied the Sandra Lee (our friend Dan's boat). Sailed by under main alone and had a brief chat. He headed out for a day sail, and we turned back down toward our mooring. Lots of tide and little wind. Made a sketchy sideways approach, but was able to swing around and pickup under sail. Nice! Packed up and headed home, leaving boat around 1230.
