Distance Travelled: 0 nm | Lay Day, Somesville

cruise photoPlanned to leave this AM, but when I flipped bilge pump on, instantly blew fuse. After some investigation, decided that we should replace. Went to SW Harbor on bus: Hamilton and West, then returned to replace old setup w/new integrated pump.switch unit. Meanwhile, weather was getting snotty--20+ knots out fo the south. Got new system installed and all seemed OK. During this time, an Island Packet (Rejoice, the St. Marys whom we had met a few years ago in NE Harbor) arrived and dropped hook too close and to windward of us and a nearby Hylass 49 (Over Margaritas). Seemed OK, if unnecessary. Hung out below for a while. Later wind eased as rain started, around 1430. Suddenly we were passing close aboard the I.P!! Turned out we had ridden up on our rode while they were sitting still on their chain! Ended up taking a turn around their anchor chain! But was able to power clear. They pulled anchor and picked up a mooring. Later wind came up again and we noticed the Hylass looked like it maybe wasn't where we thought it was before? Watched for a while and it looked like they definitely dragged, but seemed to have reset some distance from where they started. Turns out the there was no one on board! Later Hylass crew returned and moved boat to a mooring. Overall uncomfortable afternoon and evening!
