Distance Travelled: 12.3 nm | Bucks Harbor to Wooden Boat School, Brooklin

cruise photoAwoke around 0700. Everyone else asleep. Got up and read. Despite forecast, seemed to be no fog. H took last cooler (oysters and fish) ashore w/G and walked up to BHMkt for a block of ice while I prepped boat. Left 1100, shortly after Glissando. Outside it looked like the fog was laying just outside Pickering so we headed down the reach. Wind was very light but we sailed along at 1.5-3.0 knots, absolutely EMBARRASSING a J46 that we mercilessly sailed by! Eventually the wind filled in--straight up the reach. Grr. Beat our way up to the bridge at 4.0-4.8 knots in about 10 knots of wind. Cleared the bridge and made 3 or 4 more tacks (about 1/2 way to Torrey Castle) before giving up due to tiredness and encroaching fog Powered the last couple miles to wooden boat which turned out to be right on the edge of the fog. Anchored in 10 feet at low. H and G went straight ashore while I worked on a few things aboard. Nice afternoon in and out of the fog. Gavin didn't nap. Fog shut down hard around 1730. Dinner around 1900, then G shortly to bed. Read for a while then sleep for all. Sacked by 2200.
