cruise photoSlept late: 0715. Coffee and book. Finished first book of the cruise. Underway at 1015. Hot Hot Hot! And humid. Powered out Leadbetter Narrows. Clear of Dogfish Island there was light wind on the beam--sailed 3.0-3.5 across to Fiddler Ledge. Turned up and wind was too light. Powered briefly, then had wind to sail. Wing-and-wing till Webster Cove, then broad reach at 2.0-3.5 knots. Rounded to broad to beam reach at up to 4.5 knots till near Webster Head, then "poof" no more wind. Powered up 1300. Powered across to near Butter Island. Sailed briefly, then powered briefly, then sailed from tip of Butter to tip of Pickering. Anchored in 14 at low in mid-harbor. Put up awning to get out of sun. Phew! Had shower in cockpit. Felt much better. Read then joined Tim and John Irving (A30 John) aboard Gliss for cocktails. Heavy bugs around 2030, returned home. Nice evening w/jazz on MPR and a book. Bed at 2300.
