Distance Travelled: 0 nm | Lay Day, Buck's Harbor

cruise photo We had not made definitive plans about leaving on Sunday, and as so often happens, we ended up just hanging out. No big deal; that's what cruising is all about for us. I also spent some time trouble shooting my nav computer/GPS interface problem. Even with my second laptop, things weren't working. Eventually I traced it to a corrupt piece of data in the GPS and once I purged all the old route and waypoint data everything worked great.

From the log: Up early with Gavin so H could sleep. Made breakfast and played for a while, then got in dinghy to motor around anchorage and pick up a few things ashore. Returned to boat 1030. Hu up 1045 or so. Went back ashore to play till lunch. Went to town landing and threw rocks. Picked up hot dogs and ketchup at Bucks Harbor Market. After lunch H and G had naps so I visited with Tim/Heidi/Britton for a while. Soon H was waving me home and we invited everyone over for cocktails. Andrew [Breece, college kid who has been living/working summers in Bucks Harbor for years.] came by and invited everyone out for dinner [at the] Bread and Water Cafe. Dinner was fun but unbelievably slow„H and G had to go home for bed before we were even seated! Arrived there 1930; seated 2015; everyone's food except Tim and I at 2200! Our pizzas were almost 10 more minutes after! Pathetic. Launched back to our boats around 2315 by Andrew. Chilly night again.
