Mast Unstepping Day
Mast unstepping Day
Not much of note to write about. I met Tim in Yarmouth at about 0530 to leave a car, and we headed to Falmouth to get our boats and head up the river to Royal River Boat Yard where the masts were to be unstepped. Since Dasein was scheduled to spend the winter next to Tim's new boat barn, we decided to have our boat hauler move the boats on the same day—October 8, bright and early.
The seventh was a cold October morning—30 degrees, cold enough to see our breath—with dramatic sea smoke forming on the water and a bracinig breeze. But the trip progressed without incident, taking us about 1:45 to get to Yarmouth, and as they day wore on, things warmed up nicely. The last day of the season was as enjoyable as one could expect, considering that we were getting ready to haul. . .
